More About Myself

Disrespectful shoes?

I've been reading all the bits of information I have been given about my travelling but there seems to be so much!
Whoever is in charge of organising it all has made a checklist for just about everything, which is quite reassuring and i'm sure I will appreciate it all when its nearer the time but for now it just gives me a lot of reading.

There is so much to take in to account as well, and i have started out with planning my clothes (typical girl) but for Thailand you have to be respectable in some certain areas so now how to buy t shirts that'll cover my shoulders and respectable shoes, who knew there were such things as disrespectful shoes!? Going to Google that one!

Packing Dilema.

Recently I went to Marbella, Spain for a week, over the summer with my friends. Believe me I do not travel lightly it turned out I was 0.5 kg from the limit your suitcase is allowed to be, a heart attack was nearly had by myself watching the scales! So when I was drifting off to sleep the other night I realised how am I going to pack for three weeks with the same weight limit! I'm not sure it is going to be possible. I like to take my whole wardrobe away with me then I know i'll have lots of options, contemplating paying my mum to pack for me, least then I won't be the one stressing out.

I am aware I have over 5 months until I go away but I like to be organised so yes I have already started buying things for the trip it doesn't help that I work in a clothes shop I want to buy everything!

5 Months and 24 Days.

Tonight I have officially booked my trip to Thailand! Excited is an understatement.

5 Months and 24 Days till I fly.

Initially this blog is for me to be able to look back at this event in my life because my memory is shockingly bad and i'll be able remember all the facts to fill in my family when I actually go away. So this is really going to be accounts of what I have been up to preparing for my trip and my trip to Austria in January too.

Deciding.

Firstly a little bit about myself. I have recently finished college and taking a year out before starting university where I'll be studying Childhood Studies.
I didn't want to use the term 'Gap Year' as now a days its associated to people wanting to 'find themselves' but personally I chose to take time out due to stressful, personal events that have recently happened and quite frankly I need a break from education.

So after about two months of umming and ahhing about where to go and searching though endless amounts of websites I came across a website called gap360 I must of spent hours looking through all the different offers and places they travel too when I found the one I wanted to do, it appealed to me straight away and strangely it wasn't a place I had immediately wanted to travel to wither but never the less looked incredible! I'm not sure if it was the volunteering side of the trip that I liked or the fact you get to look after and ride your own elephant for two days or even the trips to temples and waterfalls that i liked the most it was something I highly doubt I would be doing again anytime soon!

So fingers crossed everything goes to plan I will be going to Thailand with eleven strangers for three weeks in April 2013.
